In the previous weeks we reviewed two musical genres with deep roots in our country: flamenco and singer-songwriters. Today, we open a new range to find out what the best Spanish pop singers have seen through a window.

This Basque pop-rock group started in 1996 with Amaia Montero as vocalist. Under the direction of the legendary artist, they published 4 albums and became one of the most famous groups on the national and international scene. They filled their tours throughout Latin America and the United States with some of their most notable songs: "La playa", "20 de Enero" or "Rosas". In 2007, Amaia left the group and was replaced by the melodic voice of Leire Martínez. It was with her at the controls when they published “Paloma Blanca”, this beautiful song that was part of the album “Cometas por el cielo”.

Before all this national recognition, and becoming the first woman to fill the Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid, she published her album “Guerra Fría” in 2010. Nena Daconte is the nickname of the Spanish singer and songwriter Mai Meneses, who came to the musical forefront after appearing in the famous television talent show Operación Triunfo in 2005. This stage name is inspired by the literary genius and Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez who coined the character "Nena Daconte" for a short story called "The Trace of Your Blood in the Snow."
